Thank you for your interest in taking action with the Western Rivers Action Network. This action alert is no longer active, because our advocacy was successful! Read about the good news and how it affects birds here.

SB 1368/HB 2056 passed the Arizona House and Senate, and was signed into law by the Governor on February 18.

This legislation makes clear that a water user who is conserving under a water conservation plan is not abandoning the water they save, encouraging conservation by eliminating the fear of forfeiture for doing the right thing. It encourages water conservation and leave more water flowing in rivers—achieving one of our top priorities this year to benefit birds and people.

There’s still work to be done. If you haven’t already, join the Western Rivers Action Network to receive updates on this issue and future opportunities to take action. You can also take action and urge your legislators to oppose bad energy bills that are still active in the legislature.
Yours in Conservation,
